How to Score Extra Cash and Free Stuff This Month

Happy New Year, pals!

The holiday season is officially behind us, and if you went hard like I did … your bank account might be looking kinda bleak right now.

Gifts. Travel. Gifts. Food. Gifts.

That shiz adds upppp. And if you failed to jump on the Bitcoin train while it was hot, you’re outta luck.

Fear not, dudes + dudettes. I’ve compiled 5 ways to help you get some cold, hard cash + free stuff this month.

1. Stash Invest

I love, love, love this app. It makes investing super easy by allowing you to contribute as little as $5 at a time. Instead of buying specific stocks, you put your cash toward different funds based on things you like, believe in and want.

The app also allows you to set up “Auto-Stash” – which drafts a fixed amount from your bank account whenever you’d like. Mine is set to $15 every other week. It’s pretty fun managing my portfolio and kinda, sorta feeling like a grown-up who knows about investing.

If you’re new to Stash and use my referral code, you’ll get $5. Once you’re on the app, share your code with friends and get even more money. Holla!

2. Robinhood

This stock app is a bit more traditional because you actually buy individual stocks. I love it because it’s cheaper to trade than what I was previously using (Capital One Investing).

A former co-worker shared it with me the other day, and now I am hooked. When I signed up, I used my old work friend’s referral code + we both received a free stock! Like, they legit give you a free stock. Now, I’m passing along the goods to you – so you can start investing too. (If you do it, let me know which free stock you get!!!)

3. Fiverr

If you’re willing to do a little extra work, Fiverr is a decent place to advertise small tasks you’re willing to do. Are you good at editing papers? Do you enjoy giving out relationship advice? Are you an amazing Tarot card reader? Is singing your thing? People will pay you for all of those things and more on Fiverr.

I am not currently using Fiverr because I don’t have the time for it. BUT! A couple years ago, I made like $1,000 within the span of three weeks.

Some caveats: I don’t recommend advertising services on there that will take you too long to complete. You will come across sellers who are willing to do ANYTHING for $5. 🙄 But spending an hour for $5 $4 (Fiverr takes a 20% commish) is not how we’re tryna live in 2018.

4. Influenster

If you haven’t discovered Influenster yet – get on it, bb!

These guys literally send you free health and beauty products in what they call a “VoxBox”, and in return, all you have to do is review the stuff you get. YEP! It’s that easy. The more you review, the more they’ll consider you to receive another VoxBox in the future. I’ve gotten Maybelline mascara, some awesome coconut conditioner, nail polish, body lotion and more.

Here’s my referral code for a little bump on “Impact Score!”

5. Finally, start that side hustle!

Alright, it’ll take you a little longer to see the return on this one … but come on – it’s definitely the most fulfilling in the long run! Start sharing your passions with other people. Last year, I was able to turn my freelance side hustle into my full-time job. I never thought I’d be able to say that.

Do you have any other income-producing activities you’re hustling on this month? Share in the comments!
